That was like watching two teams that had both been paid to throw the game 😂.

We have a really bad football program. It may be time to eliminate football altogether and direct that money to basketball and soccer.

I will not be wasting my money watching whatever this is called. $500 for two season tickets and $20 to pay for parking at every home game?! I’ve seen high school football teams that would slaughter this team right here.

Well, that was a bad date. She was a horrid beast anyway.

FU Hoopla's one-note Saxon chant of "fire the coach" is heard. You got your point across.

This was not the worst football game I have ever seen. I recall an ETSU-VMI (or Davidson) game in the 80s that was worse. And of course there was the Dunwoody Tiny Titans versus Roswell Jackets (the 98 pound class, not those huge 120 pounders) in 1971 that really stunk up the place. Now that was a bad game.

Gone are the days when Furman would field a well-disciplined, coordinated field of unified players. Those were the days. - we were noticeably smaller than the opponents, and maybe not even as fast, but we were simply better.

Watching the Furman Offense these days is like going to a jazz concert featuring a new composer. It looks and sounds like a bunch of guys all playing something different at the same time. You know there's a plan somewhere in there, and its rehearsed, but the time is a funky 15/16 or something and you can't find a theme. Then a musician drops his trombone and another defecates in his bassoon and FU Hoopla wants the conductor fired, but no one's listening because only twelve people have remained in attendance.

You know what? That has crossed my mind. I've never seen a team before that I thought was trying to lose like this one.

No excuse for this. Had a bye week and as hard as it is to believe we got even worse on O. The shame is week after week our D keeps us in games. Three years ago this staff decided to get rid of an O scheme that was successful and had us ranked in the top 5 in the country for a big armed FR QB.That experiment failed ( miserably) and we ended up with absolutely no identity. Feel bad for the players but we need to play this out and make changes. Furman has great facilities for FCS and a location in one of the best cities in the country . We will not lack in quality candidates after this season… time for a new approach.

Great home crowd. Homecoming. The perfect day to be outside and play football. All the reasons in the world to come into this game with smart, disciplined play. However, similar to how the paladin and horse slipped upon the team’s entrance, we stumbled out of the gate. Penalties. Inability to run. Three terrible turnovers. One of which essentially gave them the game. An inexplicable fielding of the 2nd half kickoff which was either going into the end zone for a touch back or out of bounds for a penalty and 1st and 10 on our 35 instead of starting us out at our 2. Take your pick, we gave this game way twenty times before we lost it. Samford played like we were the only team that they might beat for the rest of the season. Not well but with some sense or direction and urgency. We played like we had no wherewithal that we are at the bottom of the SoCon and continue to sink. The only unit on our team capable of helping the other is the defensive one, but even they were just ok today IMO. It is time for a change and not an OC or a DC. This one needs to be whole sale with a joint statement by the AD and TBD president about the direction of Furman football moving forward. Otherwise, let’s just call it what it is…a dying FBS football program with no intention of competing for a conference title let alone a national championship. Im sick of this…

What it is, tim, is what was identified sometime earlier this year by either Cavedweller2 or Davemeister. This is a battle against Pure Evil, which has so infected our campus and by extension our beloved football team. What can cause a player to catch a kick-off and run out of bounds on his own 2? Evil. What can cause the LT to finally pancake a guy but ruin it by getting an unnecessary roughness penalty? Evil. What can cause a every wide-open receiver to suddenly be enveloped in an invisibility cloak? Evil.

Paladin91 - No, we don't kill the patient. We cure the patient. Even if it means a cold and violent exorcism. For we are a merciful lot.

Tex, you are a most welcome source of chuckles. You never fail to bring a smile to my face. The bad date riff earlier here was one of your greatest hits. I had a few such experiences with Furman maidens a half century ago.

I feel sorry for every walk-on that didn't make the team this year. Right now there's some young man sitting in a dorm thinking he's such a loser that even that team didn't want him. Sub-human funks of this nature are what has led to the national rise in Type 2 Diabetes, Atheism, and Victimhood Ideology.

If you have season tickets you have a parking pass so don’t have to pay to park so you must not have season tix?

Yea that’s not true at all. Have you ever been to a game before?
