Have to admit that it is pretty cool that ESPN College GameDay is in Columbia today for the Lady Gamecocks game. I find it funny that Coach Frank Martin complains about the huge size of their arena while the women’s team fills up the place. Today there will be 18,000 fans to watch a women’s basketball game. That has to eat at Coach Martin and the men’s team.

Especially since men are closing in on a good season.

It’s the only thing they are good at. They are hungry for any kind of a winner and finally got one. The worst thing about womens college basketball is there is a HUGE dropoff after the top 3-4 teams. Example #10 etc are not competitive with top teams and they should be.

Not the only thing they are good at.
They are great at raking in money for athletics, great at expending resources to support athletics, great at facilities, great at maintaining fan support and loyalty, and great at absolutely owning their local and statewide media.
They are quickly coming back in football under Coach Beamer and will be great at least by the time we play them in 23 or is it 24. Of course, against us, they do very well even when they are not so great.
The women’s basketball program will win another national championship this year, and the strength of that program is tremendous. They are in for continuing a long run of greatness in women’s basketball.

They are also good at avoiding us in Men's BB.
Yes. I don’t understand that.
They seem to play Wofford almost annually, both before and since the game they lost by 20 to Wofford, which was the time they last played Wofford before this season. (This season UofSC beat Wofford by 11.) (They seem to play Wofford in football more frequently than they play Furman in football, by the way.)

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
