COVID-19 Is No Opponent Against Mercer Football

College football seasons across the country have been either cancelled or pushed back because of COVID-19.
However, Mercer University is not letting COVID end its games. Mercer has started the season, which will run into the spring semester.

Mercer has three games this semester, including their homecoming game, and then will play a full season schedule in the spring.

Jordan Marshall, Director of On-Campus Recruiting for the football team, says that they plan to treat this season like any other.

“Our conference announced that we were going to play an eight-game conference schedule”, Marshall said. “Even though they haven’t put out a schedule with actual dates just yet, we’re still going to prepare to get ready to go right after Christmas Break”.

Jacksonville State beat (FBS) FIU tonight 19-10. 1st FCS over FBS win in 66 tries. Last one was The Citadel over Georgia Tech 9/14/19.

Game was not as close as the score - Jacksonville State was clearly the better Team.

FIU lost by 2 to undefeated #33 Liberty a couple of weeks ago.

Liberty is ranked ahead of Army in the AP Top 25.

Mercer’s close game with JaxSt looking even better right now.

BTW - the “FBS Players are always allowed to block FCS Players in the back” rule is in effect today. Not why Mercer is losing, but it’s still a big crock of BS
