“Fake” news outlets, as well as local media outlets have reported on a SLED investigation into allegations regarding Furman and Bob Jones students. No specific mention or source has mentioned athletes, at least in the reports I have seen. Until such time that subjects of the investigation are named and credible sources cited, it is the opinion of this moderator that this subject and any continuing speculation can only harm Furman and specifically its athletic program and recruiting. If the allegations prove true, the subject will be fair game for discussion. Until then, let’s show some restraint and respect for the process.
