Being picked #1 in the polls seems to be a poisoned pill. Louisville lost their first game tonight right after moving into the #1 position. They lost to Texas Tech 70-57. Also, #4 Maryland was knocked off by Penn State.

Louisville joins Michigan State, Kentucky, and Duke as top ranked teams that lost soon after climbing to the top. Kentucky and Duke lost massive upsets to mid-majors.

#18 Butler lost their first game of the season tonight. Not an upset as they lost to #11 Baylor. There are 5 undefeated teams left - Ohio State, Auburn, San Diego State, Duquesne, and Liberty. Liberty plays Vanderbilt Saturday and LSU at the end of the month. If they won those games they could run the table in the Atlantic Sun. Duquesne will be favorites until they play St. Louis and Davidson on the road early in January.

About Us

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
