Yes, very impressive! Flagman, cancel your reservations. We are going to get our butts kicked. :D No mistakes by us, and dictate the tempo as much as possible.

Just a flashback to last season.

Incarnate Word also put up big offensive numbers in 2021 (last fall). They averaged around 39 points and had 4700 yards passing. They went 9-2 and made the post season.

They won a first round shootout against Stephen F. Austin (a former Southland team). They then lost a shootout to #1 seed Sam Houston State, a conference foe, in the second round.

Sam Houston proceeded to host the #8 seed Montana State and was hammered 49-12.

So, these high flying Southland teams put up a bunch of points against one another, but a physical team like Montana State put all that to rest.

From LSU to Incarnate Word, 7th-year QB Lindsey Scott Jr. is thriving at his 5th school

Last week a TWENTY THREE yr old NC State starter.. this week an LSU / Missouri SEVENTH YEAR (24?).. I am glad we may get Huff again but I think 6 years ought to be the cap. When you start talking seventh year of playing in college it just seems wrong to me somehow
I cannot pass up this opportunity.
FUBeAR spent 7 years at FU. FUBeAR is not a Doctor.

Saturday's game appears to be a match-up of Video Game vs. Old School.

Pretty much everyone has picked us to lose every recent game except Wofford. They've been wrong every time.

Back in 1985, yep some of you weren’t born yet, :D we played Rhode Island in the playoffs and their air attack. I know different era, but we kicked the living crap out of them. I’m not saying we will do this to IWU, but we can play with anybody. I firmly believe this. We play hard nosed physical ball and we can light it up too. At this time of the year style points mean nothing, just win!
as i recall rhode island took the ball down the field after the opening k o and scored taking a 7-0 lead.then our defense said "that's all!"

Just an observation.

Hendrix noted in his post-game presser that Furman isn't really hiding what they are doing defensively - trying to stop the run and make teams one dimensional. If you look back at the prior weeks' games, you can see a bit of a trend.

UTC - Furman stopped the run and UTC was limited to moving the ball with crossing routes to receivers.
Mercer - Furman stopped the run and Mercer was limited to moving the ball by trying to find ways to get it to Devron Harper and hoping he broke some tackles
Wofford -Furman stopped the run and Wofford was limited to moving the ball with 50/50 jump balls on post routes
Elon - Furman stopped the run and Elon was limited to moving the ball with 5 wideouts and QB draws.

Saw an early line UIW -8.5. Looking forwa4d to hearing what CCH has to say n his show at 1pm. Weatherwise just like last week the forecast has gone from 74 and sunny to 70 cloudy 30% chance of showers. Imagine that.

I hope they chat a bit about the Texas connections.

We've got 10 Texas players and the program has never played a program in the State. So, a cool experience for those guys.

Not a factor or issue for this game… Furman notes is listing nine players from Texas.
A quick scan of the roster no J Wilson.
No surprise.

I had wondered. With the flurry of activity in the transfer portal, his name had not shown up (as of the last time I checked).

With his ask to redshirt, a freshman behind him, and another Qb commit for 2023, I imagine that surprises nobody.

Would be great if we won a 10-7 defensive struggle. Don’t want to score unnecessary points until all FBS OC jobs are filled. Streeter’s situation has me a little concerned.
