2020 was a time for elite academic types to go hog wild making panicked, stupid decisions without ever having to admit they screwed up. Dropping a baseball team is a pretty benign example. My daughter’s school almost made her get a 3rd booster last spring. Glad they relented. One of her 27 yr old skinny peers had his 1st heart attack this summer.
Careful there, Furmanoid. You’re in danger of putting yourself in the line of sight of Roundball’s BAN HAMMER

Just the other day it hit me that something was missing in my life. I haven’t been bashed by Roundball in many months. I’ve stayed away from UFFP because I wasn’t sure I could properly praise the basketball program this season. But, I kinda miss the abuse.

Back to discussion of the renovations. Attached is an article in the Greenville Journal. Not sure if they or correct in saying that $23.4 million of the $40 million needed for Phase II has been raised so far.https://greenvillejournal.com/sports/fu ... -132958159
I think that is wrong about the $23.4 being raised. JD said funds have been raised. Maybe they got that from Ravenel’s $10 million donation, 10 7 figure donations =$10 million, 31 6 figure donations=$3.1 million. That’s a minimum of $23.1 million with just those 41 donations assuming all the 7 figures were $1 million each and all 31 6 figures were $100k each which is highly unlikely.

WYFF said last night that most of next year's Home Games will be played at the Well. What other venues are being considered?
Sounds like women will play at North Greenville. I would imagine that some of the men's games will be there as well. Bob Jones I think would be the better option, but I'm unsure if they offered.

Hopefully when they have double headers they'll be at the Well.

I was told BJU court is not D1 regulation size.

As far as SD is concerned they could play at the rec center next year and have no funds collected yet

The main thing is that work will start in April and be done by Fall '25. Everything else will b figured out if not already

I believe you... but how does any college program not build to a D1 regulation when building a new facility!?!

Berea High and Travelers Rest High have courts they can use for practice. Alternate locations and hold some open practices to increase localized interest.

JD said CBR has already got a good home schedule for next year. We know about Princeton and Tulane and he also said all SoCon games will be at the Well so that is 11 home games at the Well for sure. Maybe the non D1 home games will be played elsewhere but I suspect any D1 games will be played at the Well. He also said the women’s home games will be played at North Greenville U.

Thanks. Next question: How will season tickets be sold? Will a Well Package be available from Furman or will we have to deal with BSWA?

The games at the Well in the past have been included in the season tickets. I suspect season tickets will come from Furman as always.

This cuts about 20 minutes of travel time off for those of us coming from points south of Greenville. Mid-week games and season tickets become a possibility next year for me! 8-)
