Player improvement levels off over time. Occasionally someone breaks out late, but again it's more and more rare as players age.

The lack of player development was surprising and indicates that next year might not be much better. I wouldn't be surprised to see transfers out.

This season also puts a damper on CBR's professional momentum towards a big job, though he could still get a raise at a richer mid major.

Again, if you are in college you are not “growing up” you are grown. You can vote and go to war, you are no longer a kid.
Paul C and others are absolutely correct, we regressed more this year than expected. Hopefully next year will see an upswing.

Have to wonder how much improvement we can expect if we are using the same players.
