On September 23, the Supreme Court of Ohio denied the plaintiffs' emergency motion to vacate the stay in the NCAA 5-in-5 eligibility lawsuit, leaving key college basketball players, including Tom House, ineligible to play as the legal challenge continues.

With the Supreme Court of Ohio declining to vacate that stay, the stay remains active while the Ohio Court of Appeals considers the NCAA's ongoing appeal.

Why would the state of Ohio be going through so many different phases of this case, while many other states have only gone into 1 single phase of this case and then nothing else happens?
Lol..............................

exactly. what crazy is that the NCAA governs in all states. Yet the cases are state by state. And then why would 1 state rule against the players and other states not. If it applies to one should apply to all

Well now we can't have silly old ideas like dual sovereignty interfere with important civilizational matters such as the vagaries of NCAA basketball eligibility.

More like it highlights how broken and absurd the legal process is.......
Prompt & punctual are certainly not the nature of our court system........

No biggie, just get House signed up in the Cali lawsuit with Johnston or one of the other dozen or more states that would make him eligible lol...................

I believe after an appeals court decision has been made, you have to abide by the decision. So pretty sure House is now ineligible for the season.

Could just add his name to another state, have heard that a few others have already done so...........

My understanding is that once an appellate court decision has been made, the plaintiff must abide by that decision. Had he jumped to another state before the decision was made, he likely would have been ok.
