Ian Motta, 6'6" SF from Bucknell is looking for a new team. Although listed as a senior, it appears he only played seven games this year because of injury, he lists Furman, Chattanooga,ETSU,and New Mexico State among schools of interest. Motta was averaging 10 ppg and hitting 42% from three before he was injured. He scored 18 points in 26 minutes at Kentucky this year.

Nate Jones, 6'0" guard from D2 Reinhardt lists Furman among the schools that have contacted him. He was 2nd team all-conference and averaged about 17.9 ppg while hitting 40% of his threes this year.

Another possible - Louie Semona, 6"8 205 lb. sophomore at D2 Stonehill, is transferring. Semona is from Cincinnati, OH. He led Stonehill in scoring with 13.2 ppg. Also had 4.1 rpg. Shot 46.4% FG, 37.5% 3FG and 78.4%FT. Among the many schools showing interest are Furman, Davidson, Chattanooga, and WKU .

Took a quick look at some Asa Thomas highlights on YouTube. Good shooter. Best at knocking down catch-and-shoot jumpers. Probably needs some more strength to play at Clemson. Had quite a few high major type offers in HS at Lake Forest, IL (Chicago suburbs.) Could be a good player with some developmental time. Probably figured that might be hard to get in the ACC.Played in less than a third of the games this year. About 1 ppg average when he played.

Mitchell Taylor, 6'2" transfer from S.C. State picked UNC Asheville.

Conner Hickman, 6'3" guard from Bloomington, Indiana who was a player we recruited when he was in high school is leaving Cincinnati, where he spent 1 year after transferring from his original choice - Bradley. Hickman averaged over 14 ppg in 23-24 at Bradley and hit 40% of his threes but only scored 4 ppg in limited action for Cincinnati this past season.

Furman reportedly showing interest in 6'8" 220 forward Blaise Vespe, a junior at Florida Gulf Coast, who redshirted this season because of injury. He is from New Jersey. He didn't put up big numbers in 23-24 when he last played. I assume he may be someone we followed some in his HS days.

I wonder if we are interested in Cade Tyson - 6'7" junior forward from the Charlotte area. He was at UNC this year after transferring in from Belmont, where he played two years. Tyson only averaged about 2 ppg after scoring about 14 and 16 ppg with the Bruins. He is the younger brother of Hunter Tyson who was a star at Clemson and was a 2nd round draftee by the NBA. Cade was a great shooter at Belmont. Hit 42% and 46% from three point range and over 85% from the FT line his first two years. Tyson just entered the portal yesterday

Liked him a lot at Belmont - would be a great add.

With Thomas now committed, do we still have a scholarship spot for a transfer PG? Or do we roll the dice with Bronson and the freshmen?

Interesting get. A kid we would have been wild over if we got him out of HS….but missed his true Fr year at Clemson due to shoulder surgery and was sparingly used as a RS-Fr. If he lives up to his HS creds he will be a very good get for us. Has 3 years of eligibility

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
