Can't hit a HR unless your willing to step up to the plate......daunting to say the least, but it is games like this that keep the other programs functioning at Furman. Sacrificial lambs.....the $700 K paydays go a long way....if used correctly.
The Ole Miss $$ was probably used to get the Bball back and forth, room and board for the NIT fiascos in Texas....Gracias

But, we have beaten....UCF, USC, NC State (a couple of times), tied GA Tech in the past. But with no Academic restrictions, paying players, etc. it would be best if we played these games the 2nd to last week of the year...the week before there rivalry games, when they are beat down from SEC play and looking ahead.

I can remember when the Bball played a difficult schedule during the Joe Williams Glory years and beat UNC and NC State in back to back to back nights and UNC two years in a row......Dean was pisssssssssed

The last time we beat an FBS school in football that actually won 1 regular season game was 26 years ago at UNC (I was there)

Been a LOOOOONG time lol!
Wrong Poopla....maybe you should get back to what music they are going to play at the new arena.....

Not wrong at all...................
We beat UCF in 2015 that went 0-12 that year, what other FBS game have we won in 26 years?
Funny I was at the UNC game as we.....I did not know you were a cheerleader at FU...my impressions of you have changed......NOT

Only fully formed adults that act like you have a brain that stopped developing when they were still in a child like stage.......... Could be from your heritage ;)

I wonder if football gets to keep the revenue from these games or we have to give it back the athletics department to fund the other programs?
I AM NOT SURE but I think all athletic revenues go into the University and then the University gives budget back to the AD/Sports

My biggest peeve as a Furman fan is this lingering attitude or, more accurately, sports jealousy most accurately promulgated by supporters of FU hoops and directed at Paladin football. It’s so ridiculously unnecessary, petty, and just BS.

It’s as if the hiring of Joe Cantafio, Larry Davis, and Jeff Jackson, and the collective 15+ years of basketball misery they brought us was the fault of Furman football? Who hired those three stooges? Maybe connect those dots and do your best to appreciate the $millions spent by FU hoops over many decades for no rings. Thank goodness THAT finally changed over the last 10 years under Niko Medved and Bob Richey and their success is something we ALL can enjoy and appreciate.

FU has challenges, for sure, but we can win in football AND basketball concurrently. Been proven many times over the last several years.

So knock off the petty crapola and get behind the purple and white legion.

Why do some people need to diminish the football program? Glad i don’t feel the need to do that to other sports at Furman. Real fans don’t find it necessary to try to do that. Go Paladins in all sports.

Am primarily a football fan as an ex-player, do support b-ball team but don’t go to the b-ball message board here. But am guessing no football oriented fans went there to downplay the b-ball team after the Auburn or Kansas or Wofford games.
