I was thinking about blowing the Wofford game in Asheville this year and blowing the UTC in Asheville a couple of years ago by allowing the UTC player to go inimpeded from the baseline to the 3 pt line only to hit a buzzer shot. Should have cut off the dribbler.
2 ships down the drain.
One of the most ridiculous comments ever posted on this board. Jean-Baptiste was probably 10-12 feet (or more) behind the three point line when he shot the shot in the 2022 championship game. Jalen Slawson had both hands up and arms extended on defense. Alex Hunter was just to the right of the shooter and may have been touching him when he shot. I was worried that the refs might call a foul. I think Slawson and Babtiste may have made contact on Babtiste's followthrough after the shot. He was covered about as closely as you can and not risk a foul.
That game and highlights are up on YouTube where anyone can check before making foolish comments.
Here is how the Associated Press article on the game began — " David Jean-Baptiste dribbled into the front court and launched a long, game-winning 3—pointer over three defenders to lift Chattanooga to a 64-63 overtime win over Furman in the Southern Conference championship game Monday night, claiming the automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament."
This year Wofford led for all but about 40 seconds of the first half, by double digits at times, and for most of the last 10 minutes of the game except for a couple of minutes. It would be more accurate to say we almost stole the game from them when we took the brief, late lead.
