What I’m hearing - So most importantly, no major season ending type injuries. I can make you a good argument that’s really all that matters at this point.

The transfer OL from Wake is really going to help us. He’s a standout early.

Hedden has made progress but still has “moments”.

Offense showing a lot more potential for explosive plays and, music to ears, especially in run game (throw game already has it and it’s still there).

Holbrook, Hall, Harris and Hester all made plays. Add Heiden and we may be the H offense.

My take. It’s early but we are healthy and making plays and the new guys look like they will help.

So sounds like the defense is still not very good, everything you mentioned is offense. Thanks for the input.

I’d be careful there. We have a lot more experience returning on offense and while it’s common in early practices for the defense to be ahead of the offense, when you look at the situation with our team, It’s actually not surprising to hear that the offense might be even with the defense.

Plus, it just may be that I heard a lot more about the offense And less about the defense for whatever reason.

It's February, but already in midseason form.

It was tongue in cheek, everyone knows you always here about the offense and not so much about the defense. Thanks for the compliment!

I do think we'll be improved on defense.

From what I can tell, we graduate only a few players off the two deep (Jackson, Clark, Dimaggio, and Perkins).

It looks like we should return virtually the entire defensive line, most of our linebackers, get a number of key players back from injury in the backfield, and added a number of transfers at defensive back.

I don't know Xavier Stephens situation, but he still appears to be on the roster.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
