FU is selling tickets for $12.50 in some sections so suspected poor attendance is confirmed.

How many times did Stetson Coach Brian Young play in Furman vs. Georgia Southern games?
I cannot tell exactly which years Young played for Georgia Southern, but I believe they included multiple years within the 1990 through 1997 time frame.
I believe Georgia Southern had significant success against Furman Football during those years.
We gotta work on y’all’s research skills.

A Brian Young lettered for Georgia Southern in 2000. That Brian Young was a 6-2 279 lb Caucasian OG from Washington County HS in Tennille, GA

Stetson’s Head Coach, Brian Young, is an African American from Savannah, GA, who is said to have played for, but did not letter, for Georgia Southern at some point, likely before the 1997 season.

Furman defeated GaSou in 1996, 21-14. No “Young” registered a statistic for GaSou in that game.
Furman lost to GaSou in 1995, 20-27. No “Young” registered a statistic for GaSou in that game.
Furman lost to GaSou in 1994, 26-31. No “Young” registered a statistic for GaSou in that game.
Furman lost to GaSou in 1993, 19-31. No “Young” registered a statistic for GaSou in that game.
Furman lost to GaSou in 1992, 0-21. No “Young” registered a statistic for GaSou in that game.
(Too many links to include)

No “Brian Young” appears in the GaSou Media Guides from those years.

Though not 100% certain, it is reasonably safe to conclude that Stetson’s Head Coach has never stepped on the field as a Player against Furman.

Admittedly, the fact that a guy attended Georgia Southern from 1990 to 1997 seemed reasonable to most of us.
From sketchy “research” by affirm:
He appeared to be born June 1972 so he could have started college 1990.
Got his GSU bachelors degree 1997, tryouts for NFL in 1998, then played Arena Football including in Atlanta.
Apologies for possibly .inaccurate and confused info.
Just wanted to know about his previous interactions with Furman Football, prior to his current team playing us a few hours from now, particularly given that those interactions would have been during some of those 1990’s years.
Thanks for the additional info. That better enabled FUBeAR to research.

No Brian Young appears in GaSou Media Guides from 1989 - 2000 https://gseagles.com/sports/2013/8/26/ ... 35522.aspx

His alleged “play” for Georgia Southern, as far as FUBeAR can ascertain, is undocumented … if FUBeAR may uses that word about him.

Hey now…FUBeAR was a Furman student from 1978 to 1984. Nothing wrong with being a 7 year scholar. It’s all the rage among today’s “Student” Athletes.

Hedden…His game reminded me of Ingle Martin.
I'll throw another comparison out there…It was a sidearm throw similar to some of Mahomes' throws.

I do see some Ingle Martin in Hedden, but he's got a swagger, and maybe his style is more akin to Frankie DeBusk.
Well…With Hedden being a combination of a 3 time Super Bowl-winning & 3 time Super Bowl MVP, 2 time NFL MVP, 6 time NFL Pro Bowl, AND an SEC-starting, NFL draft choice, 4 years in the League, 1st Team FCS All-American, 1st Team All-SoCon, FCS Semi-Final leading, AND a 2 time 1st Team All-SoCon, FCS National Championship winning Quarterback…how could you NOT be excited!
I’m with ya FUBeAR. maybe say he’s a poor man Mahomes or something. Let’s temper this. The analogies were a little much for a team with painful fumbles and INTs that just lost to freakin Charleston Southern

Hold your horses, Big Guy… I'm just dreaming, no doubt, the result of my 8-day hospital stay recently. I'm happy just getting to watch the DINS play in person this weekend.
I didn’t see this. Hope you’re ok Astro ! I mean that

Does a Rain Game favor Furman or Stetson?
The underdog always.
Tactics aside. Rain does eliminate our home crowd advantage some.

All good FuBear… I got a virus that turned into Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS), which led to paralysis for about four days. I plan to be there on Saturday - cane in hand! Go DIns!
Dang Astro! GBS is no joke! Glad you are able to be up and walking around! Hope to see you Saturday!
THANKS, WOLF.
I'm a lucky man. All the credit goes to the ER doctor's gut, and she calls a neurologist ASAP and five days of infusions.

I have a new admiration for you PT and OT folk. Without my therapist, I wouldn't be at the game tomorrow.

One of my favorite Stetson bits of information is that Jacob Degrom, the dominant MLB pitcher, played shortstop for their baseball team.

Degrom didn't even really pitch for them. He played 112 games as an infielder and had 19 appearances on the mound with a career 4.70 ERA.

Some scout for the New York Mets earned his salary with that signing.

Saw his story on Game Day two weeks ago. From a non athletic career a 9 year college experience… priceless!
