I'm just guessing… based on some of the offers we've seen listed, Furman could still sign an offensive lineman, a defensive lineman, and a running back.
My other guess is that Furman is being very picky. Furman has some incoming players who appear ready to compete for PT at these positions.
Steven O'Dell at OL. O'Dell was highly recruited by mostly FBS schools and won almost every award a lineman in the state could win. He also has something an FCS school like Furman rarely has: an athletic 6-7 297 lineman.
Bruce Knauber at DL/NG. Knauber was a beast at Greenville High. He's explosive and seems to have a great attitude.
Gavin Hall at running back. I'll admit I'm not sure of the status of our wounded returning this season. Hicks was injured, and Smith is recovering from a serious knee injury. Robinson will need some help, and in Roper's offense, Furman will need some players to step into the slot. I expect Hall to be a great fit. If you're following him on social media, Hall has been killing it with some intense off-season workouts to ready him for the pre-season.
The other incoming player who appears to be serious about earning early PT is Devin Hester, Jr. Hester has shown his workouts on route running, speed, and catching. Hester looks like a nice compliment to Colton Hinton.
One more player to keep an eye on is Demetrius Baldwin, a smallish 255 DT who pays fiercely and is a high-rev guy.
