Current remaining scholarship players on roster for SoCon schools, per Verbal Commits

Chatt: 5
ETSU: 9
Furman: 8
Mercer: 3
Samford: 5
The Citadel: 4
UNCG: 7
VMI: 6
WCU: 2
Wofford: 10

My thoughts: Furman still has a stable roster comparative to some other schools (Chatt, WCU, even Samford) but there is still work to be done. If we can get some transfers (play-making guard, big man with paint presence) that work really well within our system and with each other, I think we will be fine in the SoCon. However, other SoCon schools will be looking to do the exact same thing, but I think it's easier to replace one or two big spots as opposed to seven (like WCU). Sure, we've yet to see Bronson or Humphries play, but I've heard glowing reports about them both. I can't wait to see how PJay Smith plays in his second season in D1, either. There's still work to be done, but when all is said and finished, I think we will be okay for next season.

ya know what this says? It takes 3-5 years to develop as a BBall player. Those who get in a hurry and transfer or get upset everytime something doesnt work out may be short sited.

UTC must recruit based on who Furman is interested in. Woffy under Young did that.

And he achieved some success doing it. Must be a good tactic.

Denker had similar numbers at Idaho as several guys on our roster - about 13 ppg, 4 apg, 34% 3 point shooting. Idaho was only 11-21 this season. He was only at Idaho one season- transferred from D2 before this year. I suspect he wants to go somewhere with a shot at making the NCAA tournament.

Jelani Hamilton is a 6'6" 200 wing from Austell, GA. He had several offers from ACC and SEC schools but picked Iowa State. He redshirted this season and should have 4 years of eligibility left.

Another transfer of note is Tom House, 6'6 200 wing from Dayton, OH who is leaving Florida State after two years of mostly sitting on the bench. He is a player the Paladins were after in HS. He had mostly mid-major offers until Georgia and FSU came in with offers late in the recruiting process. House got limited PT at Florida State but hit almost 50% of his threes this season (8-17.) Three point shooting was what he was known for in HS.

Wow he never misses!
He is doing stuff in that video that our guys don’t do so well. See how he can actually run away from the hoop, then catch/turn/quick release/boom.
