Transfer Portal (Furman and Others of Note)

Obviously we don’t want him to leave but he graduated and gave his all for 4 years. If he wants to explore his options, then I appreciate all he gave to Furman. Maybe he comes back as well. In the last couple of years, we’ve had blackshear, Yates, and the guy at CSU all go in the portal. 2/3 came back so there is a chance.

Robinson was one of the guys I thought might enter the portal. I have no inside info, but as I just said, CB is a fairly consistent position for us to see a guy go into the portal.

If everyone is out for themselves we can’t be too loyal as a program. That’s part of what is happening at Clemson. Kids are now out for themselves and leaving and so a program must do the same. If kids are gonna ditch we have to find transfers in some amount. Disagree? We went right after Huff (and Jace left). And that was the CLEAR right decision. Huff was better. If we can get him then GET HIM !

It’s like investing. Replace a 5% annual gainer with a 10% annual gainer. Don’t be loyal to a lesser item

Don’t be Samford but we live in this world of losing transfers ( number 14 possible already ) you have to be ready to jump and find some new portal guys

I really think we need 2 or 3 OL. Just number 55 changed our OL Immensely. As soon as he entered vs Mercer we were a different OL

I have thought about that as well Astro. I like the young guys we have, and I'm excited to see what they can do after a year or more learning from guys like Robinson and Blackshear. Would be nice to have Yates back though!

Achina could move back to spur since he had been their previously. I'll trust that the coaches will get the best guys on the field when the time comes. No real obvious replacement though other than Achina since he's been there in the past.

LB is going to be interesting. Thankfully DiMaggio really emerged this year once he got his opportunity. McCormick being able to comeback would be a big boost and would let Earl and Herbert work their way in gradually.

My nephew Jack Barton has entered the portal. Unfortunately, Furman does not offer a graduate course for his major. He graduates after this semester. Looking forward to what comes his way. He was a huge contributor on defense and led the team, conference and country in blocked kicks!! I am proud of Jack and look forward to see where he lands! FUATT!!
