Both are good teams.

We are obviously familiar with Chattanooga. We know what they've got, we know what they've got. We beat them on the road with our backup QB, so I'd like our chances playing them at home with our starter. If we see the Mocs again it'll be their third straight road game.

APSU would be a tough opponent, but I'm pretty sure we'll be the best team they've faced this season outside of U. Tennessee.

APSU has a 3,000 yd passer and a 1,000 yd runner. Their defense is suspect but so is our offense. It will be stength on strength and weaknes on weakness assuming it is AP. The big if is does the UTC QB play, he didn’t against Alabama.

FUBeAR hates it for the SoCon, but he’s got a pretty good hunch we’ll be seeing the Governors in Paladin Stadium on 12/2.

That will depend on the Furman team they face.

I wonder if us playing AP aim the 2019 playoffs helps us at all?

UTC only scored 7 points against us in Chatt not counting the fluke play which could have become “the miracle in Chat”.

Not many round of 16 opponents are “easy” games so we need to bring out A game regardless of the opponent.

Tyler Huff being healthy and in the lineup will be of upmost importance. Your QB has to be a dual threat. So far Carson Jones does not appear to be a running threat. Also need Dominic and other running backs healthy.

Prior to season I thought our OL was supposed to be so good that anyone could run behind them.

I agree. And I am not on the coaching staff, but if I were we would spend this week preparing for the Govs since we have seen the Mocs as recently as several weeks ago. Then adjust next week based on who wins.

In case you didn't remember, if you are a season ticket holder then your ticket to this first playoff game is included as part of your package. I noticed that our tickets are already available and I just downloaded mine to my phone. Go to Online Ticket Portal and select "My Events".

This is a different APSU coaching staff (head coach) than the staff we played in the playoffs.
I'll also add that Furman's team was less athletic than this year's.

The FU/Chatty game was a very physical game, and I expect the APSU/Chatty game to also be physical. My point I think they beat each other up a bit, and then the winner comes to town. I expect our defense to bring its A-game. I'm also going to think positively that we get our injured healed up, and bring what we're capable of as an offense.

It goes without saying Clay was frustrated after the Wofford loss. Furman under CCH has always responded well after situations like this. I expect we'll see a much better effort.

A note about that game -

The final score was ugly, but it was 7-3 at half time.

The game was played in the rain. On the road.

We had our split freshmen QBs with Grainger and Sisson. Our offense, if you all remember, was not exactly stellar that season. APSU also had some lightning quick specialist that started to break some long plays in the second half. Our offense just didn't have enough get up and go to keep up.

Interestingly, we have a number of guys (Anderson, Roberto, Chizik, Blackshear, Miller, Gilby, Sochovka, and Barton) that played in that game.

This will be a different set up.

2019 Furman at APSU:

Our Offense sucked. Neither QB could make anything happen, though HS appeared the lesser of the two evils. Last game for DG in a Furman uniform.

Defense hung tough in the first half, but saw it was not going to get any help from the O and finally gave up. We were ready to board the Last Train from Clarksville long before the final horn.
