Heard Marc Ryan on thefanupstate(Fu flagship station) asking how could it happen. Marc is from Florida and his “big” school team is Florida and his “small” school team is Furman. He pretty much said what we have been saying. Shocking, embarrassing said they had home field advantage thru the playoffs and all they had to do was beat 1-9 Wofford. Said the only upset he could think of that comes close is the 1980 U.S. amateurs beating the professional Russians in the 1980 Olympics.

It happens. Pretty much anything can happen on any given day in sports. A game of inches. A bounce here or there and we win. I am sure it was the biggest game of the year for Wofford. It was a trap game for us.

At this point I am sure the coaches and players have moved on.

He also said he had a caller from Columbia liken it to the undefeated I believe they were 9-0 Gamecocks lost to Navy in 1980,

Rouging the passer on first drive gave life. Would have been 3rd 8. Instead, 15 yards and first down.

Wouldn't a mitigating factor be that our number one quarterback and number one running back did not play?

Didn't keep us from crushing VMI the week before. Not sure if DR played against the Keydets, but if he did it wasn't for long.

Correct had we struggled on O against VMI it would be more understandable and if CJ had not looked like the second coming of Johnny Unitas in the first half. By far the best scoring half of the year then to not be able to move the ball at all against WC made it pretty shocking. After the VMI game I was ready to hand over the reins to CJ. BTW Roberto had 10 carries for 31 yards against VMI. Like most starters played none or very little in the second half. Come to think of it did sitting all the starters in the second half have anything to do with the performance on Saturday?
