But…Dan…if Mercer wins today @ CIT and next week @ Home vs. Samford, the Bears are IN. FUBeAR is willing to bet Stumpy’s Basketball bag on that. If Mercer drops either, they are OUT. This year, it’s really that simple.

Chatt could slip in @ 7-4 / 6-2 (assuming losses today and in Tuscaloosa) … but, oddly, FUBeAR thinks the Mocs need Mercer to win out and get IN to open that door for them. Also, Chatt’s AD is on the Committee. Sure, they have to leave the room when their Team is talked about…but we’ve all seen 6-5 New Hampshire get in when their AD was the Committee Chair and other such shenanigans. This is a bit of a re-think for FUBeAR - factoring in Mercer getting in and the Moc’s AD’s role.

If WCU wins out, FUBeAR confidently thinks they are IN. FUBeAR fears their season-ending trip to LexVegas though. VMI is improving and odd things happen in the Shenandoah Valley in mid-November.

So, if Furman, Mercer, and WCU win out AND Chatt loses out, FUBeAR is projecting SoCon DEFINITELY gets 3 Teams IN and thinks there is at least a 51% chance, we get 4.

FUBeAR can’t wait to see it live and in-person today…after previously being deprived of seeing them in real-time by WCU’s inability to properly encode their broadcast for ESPN+ to deliver.

In fact, FUBeAR plans to rush the field after an FU win. He is confident that in the crush of humanity there with him, no one would notice as he slips away with one of those purple helmets in tow. Right?
