Listening to coach's comments and looking at the stats, it looks like KSU tends to struggle when you don't give up big plays. If you force them to move down the field, they struggle to finish drives.

FG kicker is 3-7 through two games. So, I'd expect some "going for it" on 4th downs in plus territory.

Those of you who complain about our defensive backfield need to appreciate that we don't have to sit and watch whatever is going on here.

We may get beat on some downfield passes from time to time, but our DBs come up and hit you on the edge.

Watch those USC highlights and see how many times our safeties and CBs make tackles in open space.

Nice write-up but I disagree that the Battle of Kennesaw Mountain was "modest" At a loss of only about 700 Confederate soldiers they inflicted over 3,100 Union casualties. While Johnston won a tactical victory, he had not altered the strategic situation with Sherman failing to achieve his primary objective to split through the Confederate center line. He learned from this and changed his assault tactics for the rest or war

“On this particular Saturday, it’s to a place northwest of Atlanta known mostly for a modest mountain and a Civil War battle.”

The mountain is modest. The Civil War battle is unmodified.

This is so true. Our safeties are heavy run support and they do a great job at it.

Fred Norman, Wayne Anderson, and Kendall Thomas all listed on the depth chart.

Alex Maier, who didn't play in the first two contests, is back on the depth chart. He's one of our better pass rushers.
I think our pass rush has missed Maier — the line of Maier, Stanfield, and Stephens last season was very disruptive.
Jayquan Smith is also going to do big things.

I've wondered if we won't see Smith as the primary back next season with Robinson/Hicks in that RB2/FB role.

No Game Notes for the owlets yet...but FUBeAR took a gander at their Game Notes for Tusculum and Chatt. They seem to be updating them with some basis in reality. So, it will be interesting to see the Depth Chart when they release theirs this week.

Below are the owlets who were not on the Depth Chart for TU, but were for Chatt...

OFFENSE CHATTANOOGA Depth Chart Adds
#1 RB #1 Gabriel Benyard 5-10, 185, Jr.
#3 TE Y/T #82 Seth Adams 6-3, 265, Jr.

DEFENSE CHATTANOOGA Depth Chart Adds
#1 DE #95 Joel Parker 6-0, 260, Gr.
#2 DE #94 Jordan Miles 6-2, 245, Jr.
#1 NT #99 Pooda Walker 6-1, 310, So.
#1 DT #92 Carlos Allen 60, 290, Sr.
#1 MIKE #44 Baron Hopson 6-1, 215, Jr.
#1 WILL #7 Garland Benyard 6-1, 215, Jr.
#2 WILL #49 Juan Silas 6-1, 205, So.
#1 CB #20 Tyler Hallum 5-11, 180, Jr.
#1 CB #3 Chance Gamble 6-2, 180, Jr.

So...a lot on D sat out the Tusculum game. We will get ALL THEIR BEST. No need to watch their game with the Pioneers if'n ur into doin' such things

I think we can pretty well assume we are the top target for every team left on the schedule. They're all going to be gunning for Furman.

It's nice to get back to the point where you are every team's biggest game of the season.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
