They take 16 on practice squad. SD thinks he has a good chance of that with his skill set.

He could play WR, Slot rcvr, TE and special teams. He is big and fast. Goo traits to have on special teams

Receptions aside, a lot of those guys are trying to make the team on special teams. Miller's a big, fast, quick, player and might have some opportunities in that phase.

Compensation is not life-changing as it is for many top draft picks, but certainly potential for a good living while he tries to make the active roster. Congrats to this D@mn Good Din!!!

Weekly payment
Practice squad players make $12,000 per week or $216,000 for 18 weeks. Veteran players with over two years of experience will make a minimum of $16,100 per week or $289,800 for 18 weeks, and a maximum of $20,600 per week or $370,800 for 18 weeks.

League minimum when FUBeAR came out was $22k. https://www.nytimes.com/1983/03/11/spor ... n%20Oilers.

FUBeAR did a brief workout for the Lions…very brief…they stopped him after 20 of the 1st 40 and thanked him for his time…But FUBeAR remembers them saying something about the minimum being $40k…which is the only reason he went to the workout. Woulda played @ $40k (if they wanted FUBeAR), but $22k didn’t seem worth it compared to the lucrative GA gig FUBeAR had at FU ;)

Just conjecture (it seems) at this point…The 53-man rosters had to be set by 4PM, but the Practice rosters are works in progress…as other Teams can pick up Players and add them.

https://www.pewterreport.com/bucs-53-ma ... -analysis/

WIDE RECEIVERS – 5

WR Mike Evans
WR Chris Godwin
WR Trey Palmer
WR Deven Thompkins
WR Rakim Jarrett

Analysis: The Bucs wound up keeping five receivers because the team believes that veteran David Moore can clear waivers and make it to the practice squad. Palmer and Jarrett shined as receivers in the preseason and will see plenty of playing time on offense. Thompkins brings versatility to the offense as a gadget player, plus he’s the leading returner for kicks and punts with Palmer backing him up.

Ryan Miller seems destined to return to the practice squad and join Moore if he clears waivers. The Bucs might also bring back another receiver they cut, perhaps Cephus Johnson due to his 6-foot-4, 224-pound size.

We have several recent athlete grads that are getting paid good money right out of school.

My brother, Jack Barton's Dad, has talked to Ryan's Dad and said that Ryan had been offered a spot on the practice squad. It is up to Ryan to accept or wait to see if he gets signed by another team

You know what they say, "Can't Coach financial sense."

They also say, "Dang, they saw you comin', didn't they?"
