I dig the new helmets, although I hope we'll still roll with the classics for most games because they are still beautiful. I am disappointed by this thread, however. I clicked on the topic expecting (hoping?) I'd see a lot of this:

Just my take, but there's probably no one with more credibility in the context of Furman football than Clay Hendrix, whose career with the program has spanned decades.

If he's cool with some uniform tweaks every now and then, then I'm good with it.

Glad to see the silver helmet back for select games to honor the 1973 team. I was a sophomore at Furman then and know several players from that team. They were a class act and also a very good team.

By the way, the helmet is outstanding. Love the uniforms. There is nothing to be negative about. Football season is here. Coaches are happy. Players are happy. Most fans are happy. Play the game.

I like the purple jersey/grey pants combo better than the white jersey/grey pants

Wish the black jerseys had white numerals. Easier to see at night.

The purple jersey, grey pant, chrome/ modern day silver helmet, will be the 50th anniversary uniform. These unis are not retro/ throw back replications. They are modern day versions with reverence to 1973. I think it’s awesome. The players love it too!

FUBeAR likes that combo - purple on grey/silver combo - reminds him of his Recruiting Visit when FU whipped Appy 28-20 in '77.

FUBeAR gets the All-Black - Paladins after Dark thing and going with the All-Black next Thurs - but is kinda excited to see the Anniversary togs.
