All true!

Some other tidbits if you read thru the lines...

Baseball... he said "not yet" around 4x. SD take... its on the table but maybe not the right time

Next facility upgrade? - JD made it a point to bring up WLAX. He said that a donor has contributed. SD take.... probably next on the horizon

SoCon affiliation - JD said they were in SoCon BUT that Conference realignment with the P5 sure to happen. SD take... if major Conf realignment happens then all bets are off

NIL is also on the agenda for our players. Bottom line is we need to continue to fund our basketball projects and basketball budget.
FYI & FWIW, FUBeAR will never (intentionally) contribute even one of his pennies to any fake NIL schemes which are, in fact, pay-to-come and/or pay-to-stay schemes for any sport at any institution of higher learning. There is a significant difference in these types of programs and legitimate NIL earnings platforms. The NIL program discussed during the part of the video FUBeAR watched sounded as if it was a legitimate NIL platform. If anyone else chooses to contribute to pay-to-come and/or pay-to-stay schemes, they are certainly free to do so.

Should Furman University begin to have a significant number of what we have previously known as Student Athletes become paid-to-come and/or paid-to-stay Athletes in any sport, FUBeAR’s support and enthusiasm for that sport or those sports at Furman will, almost certainly, be proportionally diminished. If other people choose to support and feel positively about such a development, they are certainly free to do so.

FUBeAR don’t care if it’s the way of the world. FUBeAR don’t care if that’s what it takes to compete these days. Come to ‘my school’ (and stay there) for the full scholarship (to include ‘full cost of attendance’ allowances) and any EARNED NIL compensation. If you want / need more than that, FUBeAR hopes you find another place to leverage your athleticism for sufficient lucre to meet your needs/demands.

Apologies for the inconvenient interruption. Please return to your raucous rejoicing and revelry.

I really am excited about what JD said about baseball. He was almost smiling, like he wanted to let the cat out of the bag but knew he couldn’t. Said the stadium was still there and wasn’t going anywhere and was being maintained. Reading between the lines I think(hope) baseball will be back sooner rather than later.

Really frustrated with the lack of merchandise for men's basketball. I have asked the same question about licensing apparel for what seems like an eternity. I am tired of hearing the phrase "We are working on it".

Riddle me this. How is it possible that FAU didn't have jerseys for fans before the tournament and suddenly had them for the final four? I just feel like we are missing an opportunity to expand our brand awareness as a program. So many jerseys would have been bought if we had them ready to go when we beat UVA.

I suggest a 4-episode series titled as follows:

1- FU 1 time
2-FU 2 times
3- FU 3 times
4-FU ALL the time
Love this idea :D

A good structure for the 4 episodes could be:
Episode 1 (End of 2022 heartbreak and entire offseason grinding to get better)
Episode 2 (First half of regular season)
Episode 3 (Second half of regular season)
Episode 4 (SoCon and NCAA tournaments)

Agree 100% with FUBeAR. If players are recruited to Furman for the money, then they will leave for more money. I'm all for legitimate NIL but Furman needs to be about more than just the money. I think both the AD, FB and BB coaches agree and that's why we are a step above a lot of other schools and in good hands with our leadership.

How about using fake NIL to get around scholarship limits? Lets say you have a few scholarships tied up with stiffs, and you need more guys. So you give guys the equivalent of scholarships only paid for by NIL so it doesn’t go against the scholarship limit and the stiffs can hang around. Is that too shady?

Riding on the coattails of the football and basketball success and all the publicity and love what a time to announce baseball is coming bank. Take advantage of the current FU high. Bringing back baseball would be a huge boost to making FU Greenville’s team. Hope FU doesn’t lose this chance.
