Has the tournament success led to increased interest from larger schools (Clemson, South Carolina, UGA, NC State, etc.) willing to come play Furman at the Well?

What would the process be of getting jersey numbers retired for Mike Bothwell & Jalen Slawson?

A lot of really good players have come through here in the past 15 years: Stephen Croone, Devin Sibley, Matt Rafferty are some of the top names that come to mind. A second tier of Collin Reddick, Jordan Miller, Daniel Fowler, Clay Mounce, and Alex Hunter are also guys who have had a massive impact on this program.

None of them should have their jersey retired before Slawson and Bothwell.

Agree or Disagree?

I like the baseball answer “not yet”. It wasn’t no and there have been discussions. Like I said more than just a rumor.

Dang, that was great. I loved Coach Richey talking about President Elizabeth Davis. I believe him when he calls her a strong supporter and a friend. We have quite a trio in Coach Richey, AD Jason Connelly and President Elizabeth Davis.

Great presentation with Dan and JD on Ask the AD with special guest, CBR. Coach Bob continues to wow me with his insights and direction of the program. One of my big take aways was when he brought up St. Peter’s who recently made the Sweet 16, their coach leaves and where are they now? There are other “1 hit wonders” in that category such as Florida Gulf Coast. It seems like what is common with many of the teams is that the Head Coach bolts for another job. We are so lucky that CBR is still with us and can continue to develop our program. Besides a major renovation of Timmons we need a practice facility. There is an “arms” race as we compete with top mid majors for talent. Jason has documented some of the impact that our successful BB season has had on the University. CRB also pointed out the success Belmont has had in basketball has led to increased development in the overall University. So glad that ED is on board. NIL is also on the agenda for our players. Bottom line is we need to continue to fund our basketball projects and basketball budget. It will continue to pay big dividends to our overall image as well as the health and development of our University. Again, we are so fortunate to have CBR as our Head Coach and Visionary. Go Dins and Give Dins!
