FUBeAR’s Final 4 Room is booked!
It was not 42 years. It was 43 years. And I don't want you to have to make it to 119 y.o.saltyshaker wrote: ↑Mon Mar 06, 2023 9:56 pmplease don,t wait another 42 years to go back to the ncaa tourney.not sure i'll make it to 118 y.o.
Yep - seeing a Player overcome with emotion with so much time left in the game because it's starting to look almost certain that they will win is a rare moment and shows how much winning THIS game meant to them. Not 'choking' in this game was so, so hard. The weight of 42 (or 43) years, and more tangibly for them, of last year, was on their shoulders and they refused to buckle under the pressure. They rose up to it and hacked away at that yoke. It was really moving for anyone who has ever been 'in the arena' and, to some extent, for those who haven't....but it's hard, really hard, to fully 'get it' if you haven't sweat, bled, and sacrificed with your brothers as the Players on this Furman Team obviously have.SidBreamScores wrote: ↑Mon Mar 06, 2023 10:56 pmI would just like to add a big Hell Yes! My son the Marine called from Alaska to celebrate. Yep, a great night. The emotion on Hein’s face with about 2:30 to go was something. So happy for CBR, Both, Slaw and the whole program.
How about including ALL the surviving/available players from all 6 of the Furman Men’s basketball SoCon champion teams?FUBeAR wrote: ↑Mon Mar 06, 2023 11:04 pmWherever Furman plays in the opening game of the NCAA Tournament, FUBeAR would hope that Furman Athletics would reach out to this group of 12 gentlemen (assuming they are living and free/able to travel) and HOST (AKA comp's) some kind of reunion for them at the venue. That's the kind of thing that can create a HUGE media story and demonstrate what FU Athletics means to everyone associated with Furman University.

No. It's not about the past, but without the past; there is no present and the future is without a sturdy rudder.
We'll all be saying..."We can beat them....EASY!" as we watch every game.

Maybe but we want be playing the likes of those teams. We will play a 3 seed or posssibly a 4 and as always the SoCon champion will get the best of the 3 or 4 seeds. BTW I did say I thought we would win tonight.
