Maybe we can pay a team from the Pioneer League to come play us.
Yeah, Davidson and PC might come for not too much.

Yeah, Davidson and PC might come for not too much.
They are D1 FCS.

I would think if you put the point of one of those compasses used in 10th grade geometry in the ground at the virtual jucture of the Ga, Tn,NC, SC, state lines and draw a 300 mile circle you could find enough FCS schools to schedule home and home for several decades to come. Just speculating.

I hope todays “Ask the AD” segment has settled the question about future schedules.

I suspect the issue with scheduling Pioneer teams is EVERYONE wants to play them.

You get a D1/FCS win against a non-scholarship opponent. Heck, if I were them, I'd only schedule to the highest bidder.

Yes and no. JD said the schedules were complete for 2024 and 2025 but offered no info. UT is the only game scheduled after that. Said was up to CCH to announce future games. 😳 Guess we will have to rely on FBS schedules for any info.

Meatballs is a highly underrated film.

Rudy the Rabbit should have won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Lagomorph

If I were Clay, I would look at some of the mid majors for open dates and some of the other Southeastern schools in FCS. Such as Eastern Kentucky, Campbell, Murray State. Would love to play App State, Marshall or Georgia Southern too!!

FUBeAR hopes we would only play those latter 3 under home-and-home agreements OR if they were willing to pay a 20% (or greater) premium above what we typically receive to visit ACC & SEC Teams.

(FUBeAR knows they would never agree to either of these scenarios…and he is cool wit dat. FUATT!)

Those SoCon runaways will never play us again. They love the money, and losing to your former rival does not make money.

I kind of like the fact, too, that for two of the three (App and GSU) we can always say that the last time we played them we beat them. 8-)

About Us

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage

GoPaladins.com is not affiliated with Furman University or its athletics programs.
