9/9/2023 = 240 days from today we have to face Spencer Rattler. He’ll play 2023 season for USC.
It could be like when USC beat Coastal Carolina 70-10 in 2013 or Eastern Illinois 46-0 in 2022 or even worse than either of those. They’ll be aiming to climb in the ranking and to help him advance in his NFL draft standing.

What an opportunity to make somebody kick himself. I really thought Rattler should have hit the draft on a hot streak, since he is capable of playing bad enough to erase the memory of those last 3 or 4 games. Let’s take him from second round to 5th or 6th! The defense should be psyched for the challenge. But the best defense is a good running offense, and we may have that.

11 SC scholarship players have entered the portal since seasons end. 7 have already announced their new “school”. Leaves 4 still in the portal. Includes their #1 RB, 2 top DE’s, a good DB, 2 TE’s the played a lot.

Maybe the most overrated QB in college football.

We'll be fine.
Every 41 years, during 1 weekend in the Fall, the moon in the Northern/Western quadrisphere moves into what astronomers call its CocktusShocktus phase which is more commonly called a Purple Moon and is widely known to be a catalyst for cataclysmic events.

As Jackal reassures, we’ll be fine. It’s SCIENCE!

They’ll go to Athens the week after hosting us. They may be wanting to score a lot on UGA just to prove something to Georgia. In 2022, they were in Columbia against Georgia, 0-48 I believe that score was. Rattler will be hoping to get lots of good practice for Georgia by throwing for touchdowns against Furman. Or maybe we can hope he’ll be wanting to hide his greatest skills leading up to the Georgia game.

Every year, despite how good the Shamecocks are or are supposed to be, they have a game or two where they overlook a supposedly weaker opponent. Even in their best season ever (1987?) they lost to Navy. I'm not scared at all. In fact, I can't wait for September. They'll be riding high and look at us as little ole Furman. (That is if they don't lose to UNC in their opener). Bring 'em on!

It was 1984, next to last regular season game I think.
Navy was much weaker then than Navy has been in the last 2 decades.
After USC losing that game to Navy, and spoiling USC’s undefeated record, USC proceeded the next week to beat a fair Clemson team (fair for those years) at Clemson by a single point, 22-21. Then USC lost their bowl game and ended up 10-2.

Thankfully our players and coaches won't have this mindset come next Fall.

Hopefully, their mindset will be to do their best to see that it does not happen.
Not sure what the mindset was at CCU and at EIU. “Just give us the money”, maybe?

We play USC the week before they play Georgia?

I will all but guarantee they aren't going to be focused of Furman.

So, we’re expecting the actual title of Mrs., with all of its privileges and responsibilities, to be conferred upon the affianced Mrs. Garvin-to-be prior to 9/9/23?
