It seems evident that Bothwell was not going into tonight looking to take many shots (either his decision or coaches)
It was almost like he was apologizing for scoring 36 Saturday. Took 2 shots in the game. His average took a hit tonight. Ended with 9 points, 2 fgs and did not attempt a 3.
Hope he's looking aggressive to light up SoCon every night out moving forward now

Even without Bothwell scoring on fire like he usually does, I was still impressed with his performance. 8 assists with 0 turnovers. NBA scouts have said that one of Bothwell's "Cons" is that he is not the most efficient passer. I understand that we only played D2 Anderson but 8-0 assists to turnovers can hold up against anyone. Generally proud of the Dins tonight.

To do well in conference we need Slawson, Bothwell and Pegues to step up every night offensively. No one else brings us consistency. Then we need to play good team defense.

Was really hoping Alex Williams could be a significant contributor for us this year.

I think we all were thinking AW was gonna contribute after the SC St game but that didn’t age well. Our next 4 games according to kenpom are against #’s 325, 293, 279 and 265. Lose any of thos and it won’t be a good sign.

Can someone fill me in, please. What is the deal with Carter Witt? He appears to be buried on the bench. Is he in the doghouse, recovering from an injury or out of condition? With his background I had assumed he would be playing a larger role. Thanks for the help, and sorry if this was discussed somewhere else, but I was perplexed at only 8 minutes in a blowout game last night.

If I had to guess, it's a combination of learning our offensive system and getting better on the defensive side of the ball. Offensively, he provides a skillset that IMO we need - he has the best handle and great vision, along with size to finish at the rim.

There's probably also an element of not just plugging in a transfer over existing guys who have been in the program and working, unless he's playing drastically better (Conley Garrison). Just conjecture on my part though.

20-21 Season Alex Hunter had 105 Assists and 31 turnovers
This season thus far
JP has 52 Assists and 23 turnovers -29 mpg (minutes per game)
Joe 23 Assists and 7 turnovers -13 mpg
CW 20 Assists and 15 turnovers - 12 mpg
BTW, MB has 59 Assists and 26 turnovers - 33 mpg
Point Guard has to have a good ratio of Assists to turnovers. Still time to improve those numbers. Hope all of them do better in that department.

We don’t play another good team. Not that Anderson is good. They are a DII bottom dweller. There won’t be any more particularly good wins, and any losses will be bad ones. So we should run this table.

Very good stat. I would leave MB out of the discussion, but we clearly miss the overall play of Hunter. Not only did he take care of the ball and set up others he was an excellent 3 point shooter as well.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
