• Who is leaving??

So with all this COVID and 6 years and etc etc. can we keep an overall list of who is gone (and reason). Or staying.

I know we have a Transfer list and that is helpful but I don't even know who is 'graduating' and actually leaving anymore.. It used to be so much simpler.

So here are some I THINK I know so far. Again, leaving, transfer, graduating and moving on - any reason they are not on team next year... or coming back for sure as far as we know.

Huff at QB - coming back for Grad program
Evan Jumper, Center, not 100% gone but probably gone as he is in the transfer portal. This is 'official'
Ryan Miller, TE, isn't he out of eligibility?
Gissinger?
Roberto - ?
Wayne Anderson - ?
any knowledge of OL!? Very interested here.
Vollmer?
any of the OL at all...
WRs?
Is Kyndel Dean out of eligibilty? I know he was a Grad student
Shiflett?

What about DL?
I hope we aren't losing both Coleman 0 AND Sochovka 7 ? Man, I love watching those guys play !! Anyone know? I know they are older players.
LBs?
Gilby? I know he has been here a while
Travis Blackshear, is he out of eligibility?

Please help, I really can't keep up with all this 6th year stuff. Getting too old.. LOL. Especially some of you that 'hear' things etc. Please post a note that 'so and so is coming back for grad work' or 'so and so has decided to move on to another graduate program at another school (Jumper - who we appreciate !!)

Please correct me and add to the list.[/b] Thank you in advance for the help here!!
I am trying to get a feel for total returning players on the team.

First—we don't take anything for granted.
A player can change his mind.

We have six players in the MD program, a two-year program.

Huff—has one more year.
Dean—has one more year.
Gissinger—has one more year.
Vollmer—has one more year.
AD Emmanuel Adebayo—has one more year.
Sochovka—has said he will play next year.

My guess on players that could come back
They can have a grad year.
Coleman—Could play next season as a grad student
Miller—Could play next season as a grad student
Tomlin—Could play next season as a grad student
Abrams—Could play next season as a grad student
Gilby—Could play next season as a grad student
Shiflett—Could play next season as a grad student

I expect to graduate
Wilkins—I expect to graduate
Blackshear—I expect to graduate
Seth Johnson—I expect to graduate
Austin Jones—I expect to graduate (injuries)
Noah Henderson—I expect to graduate (injuries)
Jalen Clark—I expect to graduate
Luke Bynum—I expect to graduate
Jalen Miller—I heard from a parent he could graduate

We also need to pay attention to the redshirt junior class.

Brinson
Ryan
Roberto
Wyatt Hughes
Toomey
Johanning
Barton

According to public reports, we have 11 commits right now. We know there are a few outstanding offers to OL/DL/WRs/DBs that have been reported, but it doesn't look like we are casting a huge net at this point.

A slightly smaller class may suggest that they are expecting a larger number of returning players. I would think that if everyone that could graduate was graduating, we'd see a lot more offers being reported.

That aside, while kids can change their mind, I'm pretty sure the coaching staff has already had these conversations with the team and should have a pretty good idea where everyone is.

I think you're correct. Currently, we have offered a DL and a DB in the portal both have two years of eligibility.

I'm just not seeing just a flood of offers out there, which suggests to me the coaches have a limited number of targets.

Not sure if that means anything, but it would at least suggest the coaches are not expecting a big exodus this winter. We will lose some guys, but that happens every year.

Jackal mentioned that the position with the most offers is o-line and d-line.
Before the season started, Furman was down two players with injuries (Petit and Vollmer), and two incoming freshmen decided not to report. My guess is Furman is sitting with OT commits in this class. We could see three more.

I'm guessing a healthy Vollmer could play center to replace Jumper.

Can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’d like for Miller to move on somewhere like Clemson. I’d love to see him show what he can do. And hearing announcers talk about the “Furman transfer” every week on big time TV might be pretty good for recruiting.

I wonder if any of the Coaching Staff will leave. Or if CCH plans to make changes.

Grad school. Perhaps strategic design as a masters isn’t what he’s looking for.

Miller is listed as a “5th Year”. It is my understanding this means he has no eligibility left.

Anyone know why Jumper is exploring portal options??
Heard he’s looking for an MBA. He’s showing offers from GaSt, Mercer, and ODU…so far. All offer MBA’s.

Ryan Miller has used 4 seasons of eligibility that ‘count’ - 2018 (9 games), 2019 (13 games), 2021 (11 games), and 2022 (13 games), so he is ‘done’ with College Football.

FUBeAR previously posted everyone on the roster had at least one season of eligibility remaining. This was an error. Miller’s 2018 season info in his online bio is ‘buried’ with the 2019 season, so it was missed.
