The top 8 seeds are the 8 teams left:
(1) South Dakota St. vs. (8) Holy Cross
(2) Sacramento St. vs. (7) UIW
(3) North Dakota St. vs. (6) Samford
(4) Montana St vs. (5) William & Mary

Shouldn’t be surprising but kind of crazy it shook out that way!

Sac St has done just enough to win every close game. That should be an interesting game.

Not sure I can cheer for Samford to win a NC but I certainly wouldn’t mind them knocking off NDSU.

That William & Mary and Montana St game is going to be incredibly physical. That’s probably the one I’m most interested in watching.

Can you imagine how long a UIW/Samford game would last?

Guessing this gets moved to the FCS forum?

Paladins would have won that one if played in PS!

Collossul Asinine Assoc. gets 5 teams in. Only 1 left after second round. 2 got run off the field. BS!

Seeding matters and so does home field. W & M gets a bye and then gets GW. We have to play e-Loan and then travel to UIW.

Just Sayin. Now I feel better.

I left it all on my couch and my great room cheering on the DINS!
I'm so proud of the entire team and coaches for giving us a fantastic ride as a fan.
Thank You.

It's been a long time since a season like this one that we can say realistically we're going to be as good, if not better next year. This year's team ain't a one-hit-wonder.

Next year, I don’t want to hear anyone say top seeds don’t matter. Our goal should be to win the SoCon outright, get a top seed and a bye the first week, and then play at home until the championship game. Go Paladins!

I tried to pull for little Sammy yesterday but something within me wouldn't do it. Anyone that does should take a visit to their board and you will be quickly cured. Go ndsu beat transfer u.

At this point, I am pulling for the SoCon, not Samford. The conference needs for them to do well.

I think Wolfpacker told me that Samford has several dozen reported offers to players in the transfer portal.

It is sort of a shame that 2 of final 8 have the poorest fan bases and basically very few that care. UIW and SU combined attendance yesterday was under 7,000. UIW-2,300 SU 4,500.

Furman averaged between 9-10k a game all season. Their home game was on Thanksgiving break and the students weren't on campus. First round playoff games are notoriously poorly attended just about everywhere.

UIW's attendance was around their season average and was probably a tick up because of how many fans Furman showed up with.

No need to get defensive, all I did was post the numbers ;)

Next season hopefully the crowds will be bigger!

Anyone know how many Furman supporters made the trip to SA?

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
