I appreciate his effort and stepping into a tough situation.

Best of luck to him.

I wish Jace the best of luck in the future. I liked Jace, and I've always heard he is a great person.

That said—Jace's move to redshirt himself at a time when Furman was working back from injury Tyler Huff had to cause a lot of behind-the-scenes adversity.

I once had a co-worker decide at the last minute not to fly with our team to make a significant creative presentation because that person disagreed with the team's creative decision on the pitch. It left our team a bit rattled and less confident.

I have no idea how Jace's decision affected the team. But it couldn't have been positive. Kudos to the team for actually improving game by game.

That may have been what was said on the radio postgame broadcast. Something was said about how well the team has handled adversity that the fans didn't know about. Good for them for not quitting and for being strong!

In Roper's offense, where the QB can quickly become a running back, I think it is always good to have someone with a bit of experience in that QB2 role.

Fact- when Jace “redshirts himself” right before a game, with the only other qb on the team a true freshman with no experience, he has has put himself before the team. Not to say it is not his prerogative, but inarguably puts the best interests of the team in second place.

Agree with all comments. To be honest, the team has moved passed this situation. Our playoff game is front and center.

best of luck to jace.without the job he did at charleston southern we probably would not be in playoffs.maybe he will find a good situation closer to his texas home.

Might be my imagination, but it sure seems like our offense got better once that matter was resolved.

I think Jace is very athletic. My concern has always been his size. All things the same, I like qbs that are bigger. I do not think we would be where we are today if it were not for Tyler Huff…. a bigger QB.

It certainly has it's advantages, but it's not always necessary on this level. 2 teams still playing (UIW and Gardner Webb) have QB's who are 5'11"ish and are playing at an extremely high level. There may be more but I know those 2 are sub 6 feet.

We wouldn't be here without Jace's contributions (CSU, keeping us in Samford game with a chance to win). I hope he finds what he's looking for wherever he ends up, and I appreciate all he did for FU while he was here.

Wofford DE Michael Mason is in the portal. He was arguably their best player.
