I wonder if this hurts our efforts to host again.
Can’t help

It's another reason to hope for a top 8 seed and a bye for the first round. It shows the commitment the administration has for football, knowing we would probably lose money.

Casual football fans had plenty to watch on TV. Clemson-USC is almost mandatory for Carolinians. The students were out of town. So who was supposed to go to this game? Furman dug up 2700 really devoted FCS football fans on the ultimate FBS Saturday. That’s pretty good actually.

Elon had a better fan showing than I thought they would

To be honest the 2,700 crowd was making more noise than our 9,000 crowds do

At the same time, 2700 attendance would be Incarnate Word's second highest home game attendance this season.
This.

Also, we paid NCAA, they do not care about attendance. Anyone have viewership numbers? Still doesn't matter.

See Kennesaw State for example with a smaller stadium than us. As long as they make money from the school, the fans do not matter.

Can't wait to win and bust this bubble.

Can someone explain the bidding process? So Furman and Elon bid on who got the home game?

But WE care about attendance, particularly if we outkicked our coverage with our bid. If it does come down to us and Richmond (fingers crossed), their 3000 wasn’t much more than our 2717. And you have to question how real that 3000 number is since they reported exactly 3000 in attendance.

I think our numbers are legit, I have been to other games/venues and they claim a big number, I'm there and its no where close to that number.

Pretty sure NCAA also gets a cut of total # of tickets sold to each game

Playoffs are different than regular season games. It is actual tickets scanned at the gates 95% of the time as the schools have to give the NCAA some of the money. In the regular season everyone uses tickets sold vs. actual butts in seats. I do question the 3,000 figure from Richmond. Sounds fishy.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
