Admittedly San Antonio is a cool city.

What he said.

San Antonio is a tourist destination in its own right and should be nice & balmy the first weekend in December. Especially for those who worried we would be sent some place cold.

If I were making the trip, I'd stay 2-3 nights and enjoy the city.

I recall maybe a decade ago Greenville city planners visiting San Antonio to see their river walk area, which ended up being a model for our revitalized downtown along the river.

I don’t recall Furman ever playing a fb game in Texas. Any?

None come to mind.

We can fix this with our trip to San Antone next week and a visit to Frisco in January.

From a review of the record books, the only team we've played from Texas is Stephen F. Austin in the 1989 post season. That game was Greenville.

UIW is one of the worst possible matchups for Furman. Their QB has thrown for 3,767 yds 50 TD’s and only 4 ints. They have a 1,000 yd receiver. They have a 1,000 yd RB that averages 7.1 ypc. Granted their schedule is suspect but these are video game type numbers. They did put up 55 points and 616 yds on FBS Nevada. Nevada finished 2-10 but the 55 points was the most Nevada gave up all year. They have scored over 50 points in 6 of their 11 games, over 60 twice and over 70 twice.
There were only two teams in their conference with winning records and they lost to the other one, who lost to a bad Montana team last night. We were skeered of Elon’s qb and we had multiple sacks on him and many more pressures. UIW hasn’t faced a team like Furman. As they were watching our game, they threw up in their mouths a little.

I think you may be confusing SELA and SEMO.

SELA (Southeastern Louisiana) is in the Southland Conference with UIW. They beat Idaho yesterday 45-42.

Montana scored 31 straight points last night to beat SEMO (Southeast Missouri State-Ohio Valley Conf).

What do…

1) LSU
2) East Mississippi Community College
3) Missouri
4) Nicholls State, and…
5) University of the Incarnate Word…

…have in common?
They all thought at one time that Lindsey Scott Jr would help them win.

I hope we win and I think it’s perhaps possible. Though I worry about the speed of their receivers. But the bold is incorrect. .nothing big. SEMO lost to Montana last night. . The team UIW played won yesterday as it was SELA and They have moved on to second round of playoffs with a win yesterday by beating Idaho I think. I know they won. I was curious as to see if the conference was a total weakling. I was hoping to see they got whooped. Well their other playoff entrant - SELA - won their first game. Also it does say a lot that playing FBS Nevada UIW scored more on Nevada than any FBS team did !!!

And I didn’t mean to come across rude. Just a factual note. That’s all.

I don't care who they played. The numbers they put up are amazing. They are certainly a very good team and will pose a big challenge. We will need to be on our game to win. As it should be in December.

I have no doubt UIW is a good football team. I also have no doubt they run up scores on bad football teams. This Furman team has been underestimated by a whole lot of people all year… I like our chances against them.

There are some interesting numbers behind the numbers.

Sure, UIW has some eye popping offensive statistics. But there's some really solid numbers for Furman in what I can only believe is a tougher conference.

I had no idea we were 6th nationally in scoring defense.
