This will be fun reading for the week. https://elonphans.proboards.com/thread/ ... urday-26th
"The Furman fans aren't as hostile as a Georgia Southern for example, but when they get started with their signature chant, they get ugly quick."

Huh?
Yeah, we Furman fans are a real hostile group.
Yeah, “hostile” is pretty far off-base, but “ugly” is spot on. FUBeAR has seen most of y’all at these games.

I resemble that remark.

That stiff-arm was a thing of beauty.

Elon QB Matthew McKay is interesting; 23 year old RS Senior. Played at NC State’17 (RS), ‘18 and ‘19. Started 5 games for the Wolfpack in’19 and threw for 1000+ yards. Transferred to Montana State for the’21 season and started on a 12-3 Playoff team. He’s 6’4, 212, and has thrown for 2,400 yards and run for 400+ this season.
Based on this, ESPN picks Elon to win.

FWIW, both Massey & Sagarin have Furman a 6-point favorite.

That series in the Mercer game was one where you realize that this is not the Furman team of the past few years. Tough game, on the road, and the QB just took over the game in a clutch situation.

The last time I saw a Furman QB pull this move was Ingle Martin.

The biggest of those APSU DLmen was a bellhop transfer, so it shouldn’t have been anything we weren’t used to. FUBeAR’s recollection is we just weren’t very good up front on O at that time…could be misremembering.

Bad weather. Poor QB play. Sloppy football.

Even then, it was a 7-3 game at the half. We gave up 28 points in the third quarter, which has to be close to a record.

I think that was also the best Austin Peay team they'd fielded.

Great! I wish they would list the food trucks that will be there, though.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
