I may end up eating these words, but I feel good about today.

I was thinking this morning about how battle tested we are.

This is our 10th game. This will be our 4th ranked FCS opponent (ETSU, Samford, UTC, and Mercer). This is Mercer's 10th game, and we will be only their second ranked FCS opponent. Throw in Clemson and half of our schedule has been against ranked teams.

Mercer's a tough road venue, but we've played in tough road venues this year. We have won at night in Johnson City. We won in Charleston twice. We played Clemson in their home opener. We've got a veteran group and today will not be anything we haven't seen before.

Mercer is a very good football team. We don't have the talent advantage to play poorly and win. However, if the team that showed up against UTC shows up again today, I like our chances of a statement road win.
