Couldn’t have said it better roundball. For those who attended how was attendance? From the livestream it looked to be a packed crowd.
Very good crowd

Only knock was no band there for some reason?

Timmons maybe 2/3 full. Spare crowd in upper home side, decently full lower half. Good student turnout. If the team continues to play like tonight, and our athletics staff keeps up the efforts to entertain and promote, we'll see the environment we want before long.

Carter Whitt gets the "you can learn a lot from Rick Barry" free throw award. 0fer two. Consider the granny.
You looked for the one bad stat? Dude. 2 points. We won.

Please will someone be happy about a win on this board.

Carter Whitt was 3 for 5 including 2 for 2 from 3. 5 rebounds, 5 assists. As mentioned earlier his 14 +/- off the bench is tied with that of Bothwell. Dude's a play-maker.

Belmont's 50% three point shooting in the first half kept them in the game but it was fool's gold. They regressed to a more typical 38% for the whole game and the Paladins pulled away. Furman hit 42% for the game which should show that the 20% in the first game was an aberration. Interesting that Belmont only had 9 assists after getting 18 in their opener. I credit good team defense from the Paladins. It was Furman with 20 assists tonight that was moving the ball better.

Great overall contributions from Bothwell - 25 pts,6 rebs., 3 assists, and Slawson - 17 , 12, 5 and 3 steals. 13,5, and 3 from Hien . 11 pts. and 4 rebs. from Foster and 17 points combined for Anderson and Whitt off the bench. Belmont's top 4 guys had to carry the load. After their top 4 they only got 8 from the rest of their roster. Furman had 23 - the final victory margin (15). Kind of amazing that we beat them on the boards 42-22.

Great win, good crowd that was loud, students showed up. Can’t say enough about Slawson and Bothwell. Hien had a great game plus others. I think Whitt and Anderson will be pushing JP for starting at point. Guess it doesn’t really matter who starts. If the one alley-oop reverse dunk from JS isn’t on Sports Center top 10 I will be surprised. I feel much better after tonight than I did Monday. We hit some 3’s.
