Gotta hate the Bears.
There students (sitting in the section next to us) we’re rowdy and loud. But, like most schools, many left at half time.

A couple of different Mercer fans stopped me on the way out of the stadium yesterday and congratulated Furman on the win and said we have a heck of a team. Very classy fan base.

A Mercer fan sitting behind me says the way they played reminded him of the Falcons. 🤭

It appeared on TV. That they had more and more enthused students than Furman usually does. Was that true? Kept seeing some guy waving a shirt. A guy or two with shirts off. Etc. We NEED that kind of enthusiasm!!!

Any estimates on FU fan counts? We’ve not seen many visitor fans at our place.

I thought we had a good contingent of fans. Furman travels better than any other conference team. Mercer had a fellow who lead their student section. He had a megaphone and lead their cheers. Their favorite was, “You can’t do that!”, after any penalty. Not very creative, but he gave the student section enthusiasm. My seats were on the 50. Our cheerleaders were at the scoreboard end of the field. I never saw them. Had to ask if they were even there. Room for improvement for next year.

I have never been to a game where a shirtless fan won a game. However, I am giving you permission to come to any game you want without a shirt.

Gonna have to check Morgana’s record. You may be incorrect about this claim.

1) you wouldn't want me shirtless. LOL

2) LOL. well played but you get it my point - we need rowdy enthusiastic fans. Ours are golf clap and leave at halftime types. I would kill to see our students waving their shirts or towels and getting the team pumped up.

The DAWG POUND at the Cleveland Browns comes to mind.

3) I have seen NUMEROUS GAMES where those type fans win the game.. or influence it A LOT !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Shirtless fans may not win games directly but in a way they ABSOLUTELY DO. Better atmosphere and home noise (pumps up home team & causes false starts etc). That's why NDSU has such a home field advantage - lowd and roudy fans. It is a proven fact that louder fans and crowd noise helps the home team !!! It also encourages recruits to come to a school as they like to join a program with a better atmosphere. We NEED it.
