Great job by the D! Held them to under 400 yds in the first half! (barely) WCU on pace for 750 yards!!
Seems just a question of whether WCU's offense can maintain their energy through four quarters . . They are clearly more athletic.
yeah, NEITHER D has much to be proud of !! We can at least say we held some in red zone.. which is good. That and the turnover are saving us.
650 yards of total offense in the FIRST HALF for the teams. 900 yards of total O for two teams in a game is a game with no defense... This game is on pace for 1200+ yards of total O.
I get at Mercer there were 5 turnovers but Samford (probably a better comp as no 5 turnovers in one game).. held them to 450 yards total and .. 4-14 on 3rd down and 0-3 on 4th down. So that's 4 - 17 on 3rd and 4th down.
They are also getting 7 YARDS PER RUSH on us in first half with QB keepers etc. Thankfully we are averaging 8 YARDS PER RUSH .. just video game numbers.

I just got here. Had to attend a funeral. How bad are we doing? We are only up 24. This is really distressing. We really suck.

. Sincerelythey have speed for sure.. Good WRs that get open. QB runs with starter were hurting us a lot. But they are just too small on defense. nevermind 0- since you posted about up 24 in 5 minutes they are now down only 10.. Same CB has been beaten BAD twice for us for looooong TD plays. We all knew these passes would happen.

We were up 24 when Louis Tully got sarcastic - IT IS ALL LOUIS TULLY fault. Im kinda serious. In all seriousness I do HATE -and i mean HATE - when someone gets all EFFING Cocky about "this is really distressing". IT IS DISTRESSING. They can easily win now.
Thank goodness our special teams ran a kickoff back and blocked a FG and blocked an XP - awesome special teams. But all these EASY deep passes for TDs - WHY THE F*CK are we single covering aggressively in the 4th quarter. Our DBs keep getting beat by a freshman freakin' QB and youngster WRs. HUGE MISTAKE by our D in not only execution over and over and over but by our COACHES on D. Give deep safe help on their speedster receivers when up 24 - oh I mean up 17, no up 10, no up 4. DAMN MAN - learn how to close out a game. Quit single covering - have an extra safety or something even if it means leaving them to allow for 7 yard gains.
