Don't care about Dawn Staley's gamecocks

But anything that generates money for the area is good

They must have been losing money to need to place 8 teams at the same sweet 16 site

There is no reason our ladies couldn’t be in the Sweet 16.

Except they are not good enough and are not even the best team in the SoCon, but outside of that you are correct. P and C a little behind, been known for a long time. Must be a slow day.

The big change for the Sweet 16 was just announced on Friday, so actually, as always, the P&C is on top of the news. https://www.yakimaherald.com/ap/sports/ ... 9f2ce.html

There is a reason though - the distribution of female player talent is much less even than with men's basketball.

The gap between the #75 men's team and #200 men's team is much, much less than with the equivalent in the women's game.

Also the SoCon is a weak conference for women's bball.

Very true, there is a huge gap even between the top 5 or 10 and the rest. Hardly ever see any true upsets in their tourney,

It's a bummer because even if a low/mid major (in women's) like Furman wins the conference, it might not have any real chance of advancing. Makes it's harder to sell recruits. Similar dynamic in volleyball, which my daughter plays (and is a legit D-I prospect in, class of '27).

They will sell out all sessions.
