Smith will have to sit a year, correct?
No, he is immediately eligible

The first time he transferred from Wright St. to UTC he sat out the 2019-2020 season, so he will not have to sit out this time

He has played 3 years but one year was a covid year so he still has 2 years left to play

With his Talent .. and immediately eligible .. and two years left Smith will get a lot of interest.

Also he will basically be locked into his new school as if he leaves again he would have to sit a year I think. ?

Now that the big wave of players to hit the May 1 transfer deadline has passed, here is your updated preseason rankings for next season as of now:

Tier 1
1) Furman
2) Samford

Tier 2
3) UNCG
4) UTC

Tier 3 (all these teams lost a lot on paper, tons of question marks for each)
5) ETSU
6) Mercer
7) Wofford
8) WCU
9) VMI
10) Citadel

MU and woofy have 8 xfers each. WCU has 10...

amd what makes even more strange, there is very little chatter in woof fan forums
Wofftard does not have any hoops fans left, they barely averaged 1,000 announced attendance per game this past season

What happened? Just a perfect storm of CoVID coupled with the departure of Mike Young? Or something more? Can they recover?

Hypothetically if Whitt came in and won the starting PG spot this summer (I know its going to be an all out battle between him, Pegues and Anderson), size wise our starting group gets a good bit bigger

2021-2022
Alex Hunter 5'11
Conley Garrison 6'1
Mike Bothwell 6'3
Marcus Foster 6'4
Jalen Slawson 6'7

2022-2023
Carter Whitt 6'3
Mike Bothwell 6'3
Marcus Foster 6'4
Jalen Slawson 6'7
Garrett Hien 6'9

Our conference foes are refilling their rosters for next season. Wofford signed a couple of freshmen recruits - Amarri Tice, a 6'8" 220 lb. forward from Newburgh, NY. He had 11 listed offers, including UMass, Iona, Buffalo, and East Carolina and Chase Martin, a 6'5" shooter from Jenks OK who had listed offers from Oral Orals and Eastern Illinois.
UNCG picked up 6'3 Joryam Saizonou, a transfer from St. Bonaventure and Keondre Kennedy a 6'6" transfer who started his career at UMBC.
Samford gets Achor Achor 6'9" 222 juco from Melbourne Australia. Achor looks the best of these recruits. He is lanky, athletic and has nice moves around the basket. He had 7 listed offers from various mid-major schools
