Good news we moved up one spot in the Net today to #79.

I read something online that said generally based on prior years that teams with NET rankings #46-# 70 would get in the NIT. Based on this information, Furman at #79 ,may well be on the outside looking in. I sure hope that we sneak in !!

The NIT looks like a pipe dream right now

Maybe we should go to the CBI, get 4 wins (for school record 26) and a trophy!

Yep Nicholls loses too, but Norfolk St and Montana St go to their championship games on Saturday. Toledo’s last tourney appearance was in 1980 also. Besides the bid stealers I am afraid there are just too many teams one, two, three games above .500 from higher conferences that they will take before FU unfortunately. Not looking good but it ain’t over til its over.

This really doesn’t sound that bad.

Better than the CBI, its spread out and we could get home games. 32 teams, matchups are announced after each round. Championship game is March 31st. So far 6 teams have accepted invites:
Appalachian St.
Coastal Carolina
Florida Gulf Coast
South Alabama
Wofford
Youngstown St.
2 teams have turned down bids:
Arkansas St and Liberty

Long Beach St, Alcorn St. and New Mexico St. all advance to their championship games on Saturday. We still have a pulse.

I highly appreciate the ongoing observations about who is in the NIT and what our chances of getting in are. I of course highly desire that we get in, though I realize our chances do not appear all that good at this time. I wonder how many more regular season wins we would have needed to be assured of getting in. 2 more? 3 more? Maybe Winthrop, Belmont, Navy, UNCG wins, 2 or 3 of those would have assured us of at least NIT. EVERY game is important. Obviously we cannot put all our hope on winning the SoCon Tournament.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
