I guess i am a fan rather than a sarcastic critic. And yes, I expect a good year next year- and the good news is that it costs nothing to be optimistic! At one time, this was a board for people who supported Furman football.

I think Stephens was a kid we targeted out of high school. Good player with multiple years to play.

Follow up - Stephens had gobs of offers coming out of school, including Coastal, Furman, Wofford, AFA, Navy, Army, etc.

As a Freshman, he was on the defensive two deep for Lehigh and played a good bit. At 6'3 260, he's already "playing size."

You may recall Furman lost a defensive line commit right before signing day. They essentially pick up one here who is already an experienced player with, I think, three years left.

We obviously lost a few guys on the defensive line, but it would not surprise me to see this guy immediately contend for a starting spot up front at the DE position.
