I’m not sure if we were gassed at the end or what, but we went from great D to giving up wide open 3s and back door layups over the past 6-7 minutes.
This is definitely one to learn from and build on. These experiences will help us in February and March.

With all that said we had the game and committed the Cardinal sin of basketball. Fouling a 3 point shooter in the last seconds with a 3 point lead. To make it even worse we would have had the rebound.
And then Belmont commits 2 fouls on Bothwell which would have given him free throws, neither time was it called, refs had this one in the bag
Tough loss. It’s never the officials fault you lose games. The tape will show some wasted opportunities where Furman’s ball control was sloppy and led to break away points for them. This road environment will not be different from future away games in the SoCon. Better learn from tonight’s mistakes or else we’re doomed to repeat them.

Belmont folk think they are the equals of Vanderbilt, because they share proximity, their betters in Nashville always get a good laugh about it. .. makes them over compensate when they have some success. They were “lucky “ beyond belief tonight and would have lost by double digits at any place but Belmont.
