Perusing their forum, ETSU fans range from thinking the refs favored Furman to calling a balanced game.

We were obviously watching different basketball games.

Going into today ESPN's Joe Lunardi's bracketology had ETSU as a #13 seed playing #4 Gonzaga.

Same reaction here. That was the most nervous I've been for any game this year.

What a great game. Played with terrific intensity by both teams. It was going to be a kick in the gut for the loser, whoever it was.

Hard to find a key stat or player - everything mattered, everybody contributed. Five players in double figures. Solid contributions off the bench. Sibley with a game to get his confidence going for the tournament -17 points and 6 rebounds and one super clutch 3 point shot and FT. Rafferty had about 4 shots rim out on him but kept plugging away for 14 and 6 and 3 steals and a huge 3 point shot late. Fowler with 12 points, 3 rebounds, and 5 assists. And he was Mr. Steady at the free throw line. Brown didn't let his missed shots shake his confidence. JD3 always in attack mode.

Keep that attitude going for this weekend guys.

I want to think that the 3 that Sibley banked in turned his luck around.

That was nerve wracking but FUN! Great atmosphere at etsu again this year.

We are to hard to beat when we shoot the 3 and defend. Sibley quietly scores 17. (The three he hit turned Freedom Hall into a funeral parlor.)

6 straight to finish 13-5. Outstanding!

Refs have missed 3 walks, resulting in 8 ETSU points.
If ANY SoCon ref missed only 3 traveling violations, he would be having the game of his life.
I don't get it what the opposing coaches must be feeding to the zebras. Sibley's first charging foul was a stain on the profession of basketball official. It seems to happen very very frequently.

I can only imagine the league probably got a lot of push back from opposing coaches about Sibley. Almost as though they have signaled him out this year.

It was great being among the Furman faithful who made the trip to Johnson City for this one. Each team left it all out on the floor. After the final buzzer and after cheering for a few minutes, I turned to notice that the arena had cleared. It was a happy trip over the mountain. At one point in the second half, we had 10 fouls and ETSU had 5. I'd like to see how many bruises our guys have after the beating some of them took from the Bucs.

Had not realized this, but well over half of ETSU's roster are transfers.

It is transfer U for sure. They had 8 seniors today, but they will bring in more transfers next year so it doesn't matter. Just the way their coach operates.

Does draw a nice contrast to the Furman team that beat them today.

I wonder how many of their players have actually graduated over the past 3 seasons, guessing probably a bunch have not

Unfortunately, missed the game: Was ETSU at full strength?

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
