Don’t forget that Cookeville is in the central time zone. For those making the trip, I-40 is a challenge. Allow at least an hour more than what your navigation says it will take. There is a lot of construction going through Asheville. Once you get through the N.C./Tenn mountain curves, you have the heavy traffic through Knoxville. The traffic will be even worse than normal since the Volunteers play a noon game at home on Saturday. There is also several road construction sites between Knoxville and Cookeville that will back up traffic for a few miles. Hopefully, that roadwork will not be taking place on the weekends. Cookeville is a nice small city, about the size of Anderson. Like FuBeAR said, the community supports TT in a big way. Be safe on the trip up. Go Paladins!

Roundball speaks wisely. Drove to Indiana a few weeks ago and it was hard to see how America is underinvesting in infrastructure on account of it seemed like there was roadwork every 50 miles or so. Coming home I went through Chat instead of Asheville and that was nice. From Greenville it’s supposedly an hour longer that way but it may be more predictable.

.... if we can get apaladin to post another 2 TD Paladin loss on the Tenn Tech fan page we should be in good shape Saturday :)

You got the word, apaladin. BTW, I'm taking up a collection to buy you a "Air Sisson" T-Shirt.

How was I-75 between Atlanta and Knoxville?

He looked a lot better Saturday. The play calling was much better with quick passes and utilizing the middle of the field instead of throwng evrything to the sidelines. OL and receivers looked better. Hope this continues.

The DINS are 24th in the new Athlon powerpoll:

Nice. Thought ETSU would have jumped well into the top 25 but they are only one spot above the ‘dins.
Not sure how much respect ETSU is going to get from what appears to be a very bad FBS school. Not sure Vandy will win a game this season.

Stats Poll: ETSU 15 Furman 33rd
FCS Coaches: ETSU dropped one spot to 24😳 Furman did not get a single vote.

To be fair, few teams aren't going to hang 40+ on Vanderbilt this year. :D

I really thought we would be about 25th if we beat NCA&T. kind a thought we would replace them in polls. Damn , as always, it’s hard to get in the Poll of you start out not in the poll…. And it’s hard to fall out of the Poll if you start out ranked. This is where the spring fade hurts us …. We aren’t on anyone’s radar

If they play the gamecocks this season, that might be a win as well!

They do, in Columbia, SC, 10/16/21; and there seems very small chance for Vandy to win that game. And since UConn football has been brought up -
WAY TO GO HOLY CROSS CRUSADERS!!!!
Holy Cross is a school very similar to Furman, in size, in academic focus, and in level of athletics - although Holy Cross has 4 additional men’s and 4 additional women’s sports that Furman does not have, for a total of 24 sports at Holy Cross.

About Us

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage

GoPaladins.com is not affiliated with Furman University or its athletics programs.
