Don’t know what “no contest” means. Should be recorded as losses (forfeit).

We certainly do not want their remaining scheduled opponents to pick up a "win" by not even having to play UTC!

Their entire season should be erased from the books.

Can someone please explain what actually happened?

Being in the hunt for the conference championship and giving up when it comes time to play Mercer is odd...

Strange. At the Furman game, Wright was real animated and the Chatt team acted as if they won the super bowl on the walk to Timmons after the game.

Yes. That will improve our record.

What a bunch of wimps! Why would any player want to go to that school?

Exactly what does a "no contest" mean?

From the SoCon's press release in the fall about the spring season:
The no-contest is a game not played and will be considered a forfeit in the conference standings only, per NCAA policies.

My guess is it counts as a forfeit in the standings, but not the record books.

not the way they are showing Chatt’s prior evasion of VMI nor Woffy’s wimp-out of their ETSU game.

Those were both covid ‘claims,’ but no ‘win-credit’ has been showing for the Keydets or the Bucs.

I don't envy the coaches and athletic administrations. There are no easy answers here.

These athletes are working their tails off and most have done everything asked of them. The FCS is making a run at a post season, and there are programs dropping out midseason and many seem to be treating this more like a series of scrimmages.

For Furman, there's a silver lining that we still can get kids live reps. Furman played 54 players against UTC two weeks ago, many of them freshmen. That will, hopefully, help us in the fall.

I've got an easy answer. If the conference said play, you gotta play! You can opt out but you must forfeit all Ws and unplayed games for the standings only.
