#15 seed Oral Roberts just knocked off #2 seed Ohio State in OT 75-72. ORU built a 6 point lead in OT but missed some FTs late and Ohio State had an open 3 point shot to tie at the buzzer but missed.

Mike Young's Virginia Tech team lost to Florida 75-70, also in OT. A couple of players Furman was after played well. Colin Castleton lead Florida with 19 points and 14 rebounds and Hunter Cattoor, who got his first offer from the Paladins but chose Wofford originally before following Young to VT, scored 11 points in 29 minutes.

Loyola Chicago has a 4 point lead with 6 minutes to go against Georgia Tech.

And Sister Mary Elephant sees another NCAA victory. Bless her heart.

I know it will never happen but they should limit teams from one conference. 6 maximum would be a good figure but they will continue to reward mediocrity because we know who runs things.

It amazes me how bad some of these teams shoot. A local high school coach told me a few years ago that "shooting is a lost art".

San Diego State couldn't shoot it in the ocean.

I was thinking the same thing. Some of these games are almost unwatchable. The crazy thing is that coaches don’t seem to care that their guys don’t know how to shoot. I guess making shots is just old man stuff.

We have AAU tournaments every weekend down the street from me. I can see how it would be really hard to evaluate skill in those games since they are mostly just a series of ultra high speed missed layups/dunks mixed in with bricks from the arc. I think making open 10 footers is considered cheating. The Nike Elite tournament in July is much, much better but same general theme, and those guys end up scattered among the top ncaa teams.

But Buddy Boeheim can. Wow! 30 points. He was making them from everywhere.

You are correct. Very very few have Jonathon Moore's shooting touch from around the key, foul line area. It is a lost art. I was thinking the same thing yesterday watching some of these games. I guess they figure if they are that far out they may as well step back and fling a 3.

Kudos to Abilene Christian accomplishing something that we once did but can only dream of now. Beating their big state university in the big dance. Texas deserved to lose, they were terrible, thought all they had to do as show up. They had 23 turnovers. ACU shot 29% and still won. Congrats to Ohio too for knocking off Virginia. The ACC was so bad this year but still got 7 teams in. Ridiculous.

The Big 10 is getting killed in the tournament. Beautiful to watch.

Yes but as of now they still have 5 teams, ACC has 2, SEC has 4. Big surprise is the often maligned PAC-12 which still has all 4 teams.
