FYI, in the 5 years of 22, 23, 24, 25, and 26, UofSC will play (and pay) Wofford 3 times: 22, 24, and 26.
IIRC, the contract is $600,000.
In those same 5 years, we play UofSC only in 23. We play CU in 22 and 26. Wofford plays CU in 23.
By the way, we are apparently looking for a FBS opponent for 25, and UofSC apparently has an opening that it could on its schedule that year that it could fill with us.
Comments:
1. Why does it seem that WC gets paid to play UofSC somewhat more frequently than we do over a 5-year and 10-year period?
2. If we cannot line up our game with Stanford or Colorado or Wisconsin or Texas, etc., for 25, maybe we should settle for playing UofSC that year. Ha. That's a deliberately sarcastic statement, maybe contradictory, in light of the fact that I have recently posted other statements that advocated going beyond SEC and ACC for some of our BCS opponents. Yeah, any time we can get UofSC or Clemson on the schedule, get them. Save on travel money and time.

I can’t believe that the chickens would pay $600K to any in-state FCS team. They are notoriously cheap when playing in-state teams.

One of the reasons we stopped playing SC was the low pay. CU paid more plus gave FU tickets to sell. SC has recently upped their pay and that is why we are back on their schedule. $600k Is way too high. I think the WC and FU contracts would not exceed $300k, $350k at the most. BTW we have CU again in 2025 so we are not looking for an FBS game that year. The UT game is tentatively scheduled for 2026. So we have an FBS game thru 2026. I think it would be possible to play 2 FBS games in 2024 since that is a 12 game regular season.
