Well Alabama had a 55-54 lead with under 6 to go and then gave up 10 straight points and lost 64-56. Scored one point the last 5 plus minutes. Ended up 3-22 from three. They were 19-22 from the free throw line. Need to keep them off the line.
Our first conference game is @ UTC, this should helpMidlandsPaladin wrote: ↑Mon Dec 14, 2020 10:06 amBig development in the SoCon this weekend...I didn't see where this had already been posted:
Yep WC pretty much dominated and unfortunately I think WC is now the team to beat in the SoCon. WC just seems to thrive on national TV. Bad night for me as both WC and CU won games I thought they could lose. Stupid me.DoomedDin1127 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 29, 2020 9:13 pmWofford controls the game and beats Mercer 78-65
Storm Murphy (Wofford) 7/18 FG, 16 pts
Ross Cummings (Mercer) 7/12 FG, 21 pts
Wofford went 47% FG and 30% from 3
Mercer went 39% FG and 33% from 3
Wofford had 43 rebounds
Mercer had 37 rebounds
Wofford had their largest lead at 19 pts
DoomedDin’s takeaway- Wofford beat Mercer with offensive rebounds. Mercer had plenty of opportunities but either 1- missed the opportunity or 2- Wofford (mainly Storm Murphy) would respond with a two jumper. Wofford had control though. Wofford never gave up an opportunity to chase down a loose ball.
Starting PG, Alvarez, was a last-minute scratch for Mercer - no info as to why.apaladin wrote: ↑Tue Dec 29, 2020 9:18 pmYep WC pretty much dominated and unfortunately I think WC is now the team to beat in the SoCon.
